Our standards
How we run things
What you can expect from us, and what we ask of everyone who trains with us, from coaching and conduct to bookings and the partners we recommend.
01
Coaching and safety
- Expert coaching. Classes are led by Monty Simmons of MoveWithMonty, who holds an MSc in Biomechanics.
- Kept small. Each class takes 7 to 10 people, so the coach can watch your form and adjust for you.
- Every session is briefed. Each class opens with a short briefing. Monty plans every session and adapts it to the people in the room, giving easier or harder versions of each exercise.
- Tell us about injuries. New guests confirm they will mention any injury or health condition before they start. Tell the coach at any time if something doesn’t feel right; stopping is always fine.
- Insured. ALP Collective Ltd holds public liability insurance for its classes.
- Professional studios. We train in hired studios at Solo60 in Shoreditch and Moorgate, and follow each venue’s house rules.
Inclusion and conduct
ALP Collective is LGBTQ+ inspired and open to all. Whoever you are, you should feel at home from your first visit.
- Respect everyone’s body, identity, gender expression, age and ability. No unasked-for comments on how anyone looks.
- Use the names and pronouns people give you.
- No harassment, unwanted contact or photos of others without their agreement.
- We will ask anyone who breaks these rules to leave, and may refuse future bookings.
Raising a concern
Speak to the coach on the day, or email hello@alpcollective.uk. We treat every concern in confidence and will reply within two working days.
03Bookings and refunds
First two classes for £20
- For people who haven’t trained with ALP Collective before. Take both classes yourself, or bring a friend to one class.
- Book on the trial page and pay through Monzo. We confirm your place by email within 24 hours.
- If a class is full we’ll offer the next one. If we can’t find a class that suits you, we’ll refund you in full.
- Can’t make it? Let us know and we’ll move you to another class.
Drop-ins and packs
- Single classes and packs are booked through MoveWithMonty’s booking system on our Classes page. Its booking and cancellation terms are shown when you book, and they apply.
- See Membership for current prices.
On the day
- Arrive five minutes early so you have time to settle in and warm up.
- Bring trainers, water and a towel.
- If we ever have to cancel a class, we’ll move you to another one or refund you.
None of this affects your legal rights.
04Partners and perks
- Chosen, not bought. We feature founder-led businesses we know and trust, many of them LGBTQ+ owned.
- Agreed offers only. We only show an offer once the business has agreed it, and we say who sets the terms.
- Clear about referrals. When we use a referral or affiliate link, we label it. Any commission ALP Collective receives goes towards building our first permanent home.
- No prescription medicines. UK law does not allow prescription-only medicines to be advertised to the public. We don’t promote weight-loss injections, prescription hair-loss treatments or similar, even through referral links.
- Qualified practitioners. Our skin partner, derm.medbyJuan, is an NHS-trained nurse with an MSc in Clinical Dermatology. Treatments are booked directly with him, under his own terms.
