Dante Orozco
A realist painter working in oils and pastel, from sittings and detailed photographs.
Dante Orozco is a realist painter. His work places people in their everyday settings and looks at how the human gaze reveals character. He paints portraits and urban landscapes, from sittings and detailed photographs, working with his own subjects and to commission. The selection here includes self-portraits.
He trained in Peru, at Bellas Artes Ignacio Merino in Piura and the Universidad Superior Autónoma de Bellas Artes del Perú in Lima, and then in London at London Fine Art Studios. His work has been shown in the open exhibitions of the Royal Society of British Artists, the Royal West of England Academy and the Chelsea Art Society, and he took part in Sky Arts Portrait Artist of the Year in 2019. He showed in the Winter Open Exhibition 2022 at Heart of the Tribe Gallery in Glastonbury, and in 2026 he was artist in residence at Néctar Conectar in Spain.
